Staff Farewell Party, Lyndon B. Johnson Administration
This photograph was taken in January 1969 during a farewell party for White House staff marking the conclusion of the Lyndon B. Johnson administration. This photograph is part of a collection belonging to former White House Executive Chef Henry Haller. Chef Haller can be found in the back row, seventh from the left. Haller served as executive chef at the White House from 1966-1987. The photograph includes a note addressed to Haller, probably from White House Social Secretary Bess Abell, who is possibly seated in the first row, fourth from the left. Also among the group are butler Eugene Allen, sitting to the far left in the first row, and Maitre d'hotel John W. Ficklin, crouching on the far left of the second row.
